Pincher Creek + My Favorites
Travel north from Waterton on Hwy 6 to the cowboy town of Pincher Creek. The Pincher Creek & District Museum & Kootenai Brown Historical Park contain displays of more than 12,000 pioneer artifacts. Open May 16 to Sept 7, daily 10 am - 8 pm; then Sun and Wed, 1 - 5 pm and by appointment. Admission $3 adults/sen, $1.50 stu. South end James Ave at Grove St, call 627-3684. Lebel Mansion Gallery is open daily 1 - 5 pm during the summer. 696 Kettles St, 627-5272. An unusual attraction is the Crystal Village, a collection of 13 buildings made from 200,000 glass telephone insulators and 900 telephone line crossarms. It’s located at the Oldman River Antique Equipment & Threshing Club which features historic farm equipment and pioneer antiques, phone for hours. Located at Heritage Acres, open daily. 10 km (6.25 mi) north on Hwy 785 off Hwy 3, 627-2082. The Castle Wilderness Area west of town offers hiking trails and camping.
